DJ Nicholas: The regenerator

Chavon Panton
Tuesday, January 01, 2008

With the theme for this year’s Genesis being Regenerate for 2008, who best to highlight than the man who vows never to ‘bow’, sends sin ‘back to the owner’ and always to promises to ‘pop off the word’.

TEENage: What are your thoughts about Genesis?
Nicholas: Genesis is a yearly event that young Christians look forward to, which offers some of the best gospel artistes, it’s a high-energy praise and worship atmosphere, with great production and it’s a not-to-be-missed event.

TEENage: You are one of the main acts at Genesis Triplefest (booked on the MoBay and Kingston shows), how are the preparations going?
Nicholas: With a lot of rehearsals and with God it will be a good showing.

TEENage: You went to Antigua recently to do a show, how was it?
Nicholas: It was great, the show had Donnie McClurkin on the line-up, which I was the open act, the ministries were great.

TEENage: The title of your last album is On The shout. Why that name?
Nicholas: On The Shout, with the gospel or in other words just being loud for Jesus.

TEENage: How has the album been doing so far?
Nicholas: It has reach and opened doors in many places and has created ministry opportunities around the world.

TEENage: What’s your favorite song on the album, and why?
Nicholas: It’s hard to choose my favourite, but Naa Bow has ministered to a lot and Holy Ghost Church has been a favourite and the testimony has been impact-full.

TEENage: How long did it take you to complete the album?
Nicholas: There were a few singles out before but most of it took about four months.

TEENage: What is different about this album as opposed to the others?
Nicholas: The album was personal, sharing my testimony declared that God was my barrier and when the enemy attack, I pop off the word.

TEENage: Any new release soon?
Nicholas: Yes, some songs are in the studio being finalised looking to release my second album God’s willing 2008.

TEENage: How did you feel to be nominated in the TEENage Choice Awards?
Nicholas: It was a blessing.

TEENage: What else do you want folks to know about you?
Nicholas: That my inspiration is Jesus Christ through the word of God.

TEENage: If you could do anything else what would it be?
Nicholas: Preach.

TEENage: What motivates you?
Nicholas: The word of God.
TEENage: What advise do you have for a person who wants to be a gospel artiste?
Nicholas: With hard work and diligently seeking God you can accomplish much.

So you see with God Nicholas declares that no enemy can attack him. Look out for him at Genesis 2008, for he will be popping off the word.
